Lucas & Olivia's Rustic Chic Wedding, Pt. II: The Ceremony & Portraits | Virginia Wedding Photographers in Lynchburg

Every chair was filled, front to back. Guests had driven down and flown in from all across the country. Terrace View by the James on the 8th floor of the Bank of the James building in downtown Lynchburg was bright, airy, close to the outdoors but sheltered from the cold wind on this blistering January day. Lucas and Olivia used rustic elements to warm up the space, like candles lining the aisle and a wooden arbor made of tree limbs.

Olivia's father walked her down the aisle and her uncle officiated the ceremony. Her adorable nieces were the flower girls and his young brothers were honorary groomsmen. Lucas' mother and Olivia's father fought back tears, while many other guests who have known this couple since birth just went with it and cried.

After the ceremony, we ran outside to the Terrace for portraits. The sun pushed through the clouds for just a few minutes and we made the most of it. Their bridal party was THE BEST group and we had a blast together before we sent them on to the reception. We stayed behind with Lucas and Olivia, letting them catch their breath and really stop to focus for a minute. Her new husband. His new wife. How incredible is that?

But we didn't stop at the 8th floor. We had 10 minutes and 1 really kind security guard, and Lucas and Olivia wanted to go to the roof. So the guard showed us the way, and we spent the last few minutes of daylight on the helipad overlooking Lynchburg and the mountains. It was like a movie, with his tailored navy suit and her stunning mermaid gown!

But over 250 guests were waiting on the 20th floor... coming next.
