The family dog, Spike, sat on the couch in the bridal cabin. He was wearing his blue tuxedo and eating mozzarella cheese sticks like there was no tomorrow.

Outside, the waves lapped against the deck down below. John’s father sat in silence on the deck, looking out over the water and occasionally writing a note in his black notebook as he prepared to officiate his son’s wedding ceremony.

On the other side of the property, the guys were getting dressed. John towered above everyone else in the room. His career in the U.S. Department of Defense had no doubt trained him to handle anything without losing his cool, but even he was undone at the sight of his bride in her stunning lacy white mermaid-style wedding dress.

Megan’s brother served as a bridesman on her side, and John’s sister served as a groomslady on his side. Almost 150 of their loved ones came from all over the country to celebrate with them, and they couldn’t have hoped for a more beautiful evening in the Shenandoah region of Virginia!
