Bill & Bergen were married at their friend’s country estate, surrounded by horse pastures and the lush green Virginia landscape in June. It was an intimate affair, with family and friends lending their talents to make the day absolutely gorgeous. It was everything we could have hoped for in a June wedding, from the live jazz band to the adorable gelato cart that was surrounded by a crowd of kids all night.
Bill and Bergen are both skilled vocalists. When they were dating, their apartments were 30 minutes apart from each other. Every night when Bergen drove home, she would practice singing the song “Marry Me Bill” by 5th Dimension in the car. She knew she was going to marry him one day, and she wanted to be ready to sing the song when the time came.
Meanwhile, long before Bergen’s late night drives home from his apartment, Bill grew up listening to his mom’s old record collection. There was one song in particular, “The First Time” by folk artist Bob Grossman, that he wanted to be able to sing to his wife one day.
She finally got to sing to him at the rehearsal dinner, and he finally got to sing to her at the reception. It’s been a joy to watch the way they love, serve, surprise and delight one another. We can’t wait to see the life they build together in marriage.
