John & Valen's Engagement Session, Pt. I | Lynchburg VA Wedding Photographer

Theirs is a love story that's close to our hearts: Two souls that met at work and slowly grew to much more than just co-workers. John and Valen both worked at the hospital, saving lives in the ER. During a really hard season in John's life, Valen was there as a friend. After a while, they began to pursue one another, and they finally admitted that this was something much bigger!

Caleb & Christina's Timeless Military Wedding, Pt. V: The Reception | Lynchburg Wedding Photographers at Mead Lake Lodge in Rustburg, VA

Caleb and Christina's reception at Mead Lake Lodge was so beautifully decorated. Less is often more, and their table centerpieces and subtle use of blush pink and gold throughout the venue was perfect. While we were out taking portraits on the property, guests inside enjoyed hor d'oeuvres before dinner was served. Their two-piece jazz band, Andy Benton and Robert Nanton, were incredible - but when it came time for first dances, Caleb stole the show by not only dancing (on a recently torn ACL, no less) but also SINGING their first dance song!

Caleb & Christina's Timeless Military Wedding, Pt. IV: The Sunset Portraits | Lynchburg Wedding Photographers at Mead Lake Lodge in Rustburg, VA

When we toured Mead Lake Lodge before the wedding, Christina kept talking about how beautiful the property was and how much she loved all the greenery and water. We knew we had to use that natural beauty whenever possible, so we took them to some of their favorite locations on the property to get their first portraits together. We went for a walk in the forest right before their ceremony, then we went down to the lake again as the skies cleared for an incredible sunset!

Caleb & Christina's Timeless Military Wedding, Pt. III: The Ceremony | Lynchburg Wedding Photographers at Mead Lake Lodge in Rustburg, VA

The lodge was decorated in deep navy blue and blush pink. Guests took their seats under the sweeping tuille and string lights in the rafters as the ceremony began. Every detail that was part of Christina and Caleb's wedding day pointed right back to the Lord and His goodness. Beginning their Ceremony was a prayer by the Department Chair from Liberty University School of Divinity where they studied, worked, and first laid eyes in each other. Then Christina walked down the aisle with her father to "All the Way My Savior Leads Me," performed by Caleb's brother and sister.

Caleb & Christina's Timeless Military Wedding, Pt. II: Their First Look | Lynchburg Wedding Photographers at Mead Lake Lodge in Rustburg, VA

Christina and Caleb were SO excited to do a first look, and Mead Lake Lodge had so many beautiful places to do it. Caleb, dressed in his Air Force blues, waited patiently and eagerly on a dock to see his beautiful bride for the first time on their wedding day. As he waited, he was singing his favorite hymn at the top of his lungs out over the water. Inside the lodge, Christina's bridesmaids finished her hair and makeup and she made her way down to meet Caleb.

Caleb & Christina's Timeless Military Wedding, Pt. I: Getting Ready | Lynchburg Wedding Photographers at Mead Lake Lodge in Rustburg, VA

Oh my goodness, Christina and Caleb are literally the most joy-filled, sweet, and encouraging couple you will ever meet! We fell in love with them and their story long before ever meeting them for the first time. They met at Liberty University's School of Divinity, where Caleb was studying to become a chaplain in the Air Force and Christina was the secretary for the office. She was the first girl he met on his first day of grad school. He said he was smitten from the very first moment he saw her.

Bennett & Amanda's Downtown Fairytale Wedding, Pt. IV: The Reception at the Historic Post Office | Lynchburg Wedding Photographers in Hampton, Virginia

The Historic Post Office thundered as Bennett and Amanda were introduced as "Mr. and Mrs. Stofer" for the first time. The venue was beautifully decorated in gold and white linen accents, with luscious red and blush pink roses everywhere. To continue the amazing musical talent throughout their day, Bennett and Amanda required that each table sing a love song a capella before they could be dismissed to get their food! It was hilarious and so sweet.

Bennett & Amanda's Downtown Fairytale Wedding, Pt. III: Their First Portraits | Lynchburg Wedding Photographers in Hampton, Virginia

Amanda and Bennett's bridal party was so much fun! They had an incredible joyful spirit and were totally devoted to them. Right after the ceremony, we rushed out of the church and took to the streets for portraits together. We stopped traffic in downtown Hampton and the whole city knew this amazing couple was married and very, very loved. After some shenanigans with everybody, we took Bennett and Amanda down to the waterside for their first intimate photos as husband and wife in the warm evening sun.

Bennett & Amanda's Downtown Fairytale Wedding, Pt. I: Getting Ready | Lynchburg Wedding Photographers in Hampton, Virginia

They were in the same choir and both studying music at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Amanda had never fallen in love before. She had dated a few guys, but never had feelings that grew deeper. She wondered if that's all love would ever be. She even expected the same thing when she started dating Bennett. He, on the other hand, had been attracted to Amanda from the very beginning.

Derrick & Leah's Elegant Waterfront Wedding, Pt. IV: The Reception | Lynchburg Wedding Photographers at Silver Swan Bayside, Maryland

Their grand entrance led into their sweet first dance as husband and wife, followed immediately by the amaaaaaaazing brunch buffet. Who doesn't want a huge french toast breakfast at their reception?! SO GOOD. After speeches and toasts from her father, her baby sister, and his best man over mimosas, we stepped back outside for the father-daughter and mother-son dance. But we had no idea what was about to happen.
